Working Together — Avance Organizing
What would life be if we had no courage to attempt anything?
Taking a new step, uttering a new word — this is what people fear most. The first session is, in part, about borrowing some courage from a steady hand.
Three movements of the work.
Begin with elimination
Curate by removing what no longer serves you. Be honest yet discerning — let go of what is ill-fitting, outdated, or simply unworn. Donation or resale ensures these pieces find new life elsewhere.
Categorize with intention
Group clothing by type — blazers, trousers, knitwear — or by lifestyle function: professional, casual, formal. This not only simplifies outfit selection but also reveals potential gaps or redundancies.
Employ elegant storage
Invest in uniform hangers for visual harmony, drawer inserts for smaller items, and storage boxes for off-season pieces. Clear labeling or subtle dividers add both structure and aesthetic cohesion.
When the practice continues.
The closet is where most engagements begin. For some clients, it is also where they end — a single, well-edited wardrobe can settle a household more than people expect.
For others, the work continues. Drawers and dressing areas are usually next, then linens, then kitchens. The full KonMari™ sequence — clothing, books, papers, komono, sentimental — is available as a multi-session program for clients who want to carry the practice through the whole home.
